Joelle has the heart of a matchmaker and values working with attorneys, law firms, and corporate clients on exclusive terms, allowing for greater collaboration, candor, and successful connections.

Joelle was born and raised in Austin, with her maternal family in France and her paternal family in the Texas Hill Country. After growing up on the campus of The University of Texas as part of a faculty family, she set off for the Northeast for college and earned her B.A. in English from Yale University in 1994. While an undergraduate, Joelle worked for several years in the pro bono student legal clinics at Yale Law School. Between college and law school, she worked in New York City as a paralegal at Lankler Siffert & Wohl, a Chambers-ranked white-collar crime and civil litigation firm, and in Austin at Scott Douglass & McConnico, a well-regarded trial and appellate boutique.

Joelle earned her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 1999 and then joined the Austin office of Winstead, an Am Law 200 law firm. Joelle practiced corporate, securities, and mergers and acquisitions law at Winstead for over six years. She was on the firm’s diversity and leadership transition committees and enjoyed recruiting, training, and counseling junior associates. In 2006, Joelle transitioned to full-time legal recruiting, partnering with veteran recruiters and starting new businesses. She launched Prospect Point in 2021 with both expanded services and refined focus.

Joelle serves as a speaker and consultant on topics such as in-house and private practice career management, recruiting best practices, compensation negotiation, board service, and business development. She is a mentor to attorneys through the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association Mentoring Program and Mother Attorney Mentoring Association of Austin and regularly advises attorneys of all levels of experience about the local and national legal market and their career development.
